Diminishing the Holocaust or denying it?

Lately I have heard some comparing ICE to the Gestapo or Nazis. The first question that comes to my mind is are the people saying this educated on WWII history? The simplest way to approach or analyze their comments is by doing a compare and contrast with what ICE is doing vs what the Nazis did.

ICE is arresting and deporting aliens who entered the United States unlawfully. Keep in mind, the Department of Homeland Security has offered to pay these aliens monetarily if they self-deport, which gives them the opportunity to return legally. However, if they don't self-deport they lose the opportunity to return. An immigrant or non-citizens have many civil rights in the United States; however, their presence is subject to immigration law; consequently, this fact grants the government more broad authority over their personal liberty by comparison to citizens. 

The Nazis were guilty of mass murder (the  genocide of millions of citizens). They  discriminated and ostracized, and placed many in concentration camps. I recently watched a clip of an interview with Geddy Lee in which he explained how his grandmother was able to save the lives of his mother and her sister in a Nazi camp by moving them around in the two morning lines. Basically, the Nazis made the prisoners make two lines in the morning...one line went to work and the other went to the gas chamber to die.

Without going into much detail, I have illustrated the difference between ICE and the WWII German Nazis. ICE is capturing illegals who didn't self deport, most of whom are convicted criminals, and sending them back home. The issue is that many are protesting and attacking ICE and comparing them to Nazis. It is believed that many of the protesters are being funded by Neville Roy Singham from what I have read recently, but that is another story.

The closing argument for this post is that comparing ICE to Nazis really diminishes what the Holocaust was, or perhaps even almost denies it altogether. This is dangerous ground to be treading on because it is a method of introducing a false narrative about one of the darkest moments in human history from a side twist to a story that is not the same.
