Some do not want to hear what you have to say and interrupt. I usually don't bother making my case anymore when people get defensive and interrupt. Not sure what's so threatening if they discover there's a possibility they could be wrong. No human knows everything, but some are convinced.
On a separate note, we really know very little about this immense universe, but for some reason people always want certainty.
