On Feb 1, 2019, I shared video which I had made on YouTube. It is still there for anyone to view, and it is titled: The Logic Behind a Wall. Of course, I am not just talking about any Wall. In it, I am basically using a bit of apologetics in logic to justify building the border wall.
Back in 2019, former President Trump declared a national
emergency at the border. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) basically became
the stewards of the contracting for the project of building the wall, and they
awarded more than $10 billion in contracts between 2018 and 2020 (fiscal
years). In January of 2021, President Biden paused the border wall project. I
don’t know all details, but this sounds like a breach of contract by the Biden
Administration. The following excerpt from the U.S. GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY OFFICE
is very relevant and informative.
By the time the new President
ended the national emergency and paused border work in January 2021, the Corps
had built more than 450 miles of wall panels—meeting the prior administration’s
goal. But most of these miles (381 out of 450) do not include the full wall
system—which includes electrical features like lighting and cameras—that were
part of the original requirements{gao.gov).
The article includes maps of many contracted miles. I
strongly recommend reading it to understand the details of how well planed and
organized things were. Today the Biden administration is facing a crisis of
huge magnitude at the border. I am convinced abandoning the wall project was a terrible decision, to say the least. However, this post is about the video I made back in 2019.
Although, this introduction may seem lengthy, the excerpt I
shared mentions "electrical features like lighting and cameras were part of the
original requirements." In my video, I mention similar ideas. I am posting the
video on here; in case anyone is interested in watching.
